Danton Remoto

Danton Remoto is a Filipino writer and academic who has published 40 books, including fiction, essays, poems, translations, textbooks, and anthologies of literature. He has held positions such as Head of School – English at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, President of The Manila Times College, Head of Research and TV-radio host at TV5, and Head of Communications at the United Nations Development Programme. His published works include Riverrun, A Novel; The Heart of Summer: Stories and Tales; and three translations of classic Tagalog novels into English with Penguin House SEA. Danton was educated at Miami University and Rutgers University in the USA, the University of Stirling in the UK, and Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines.

Danton Remoto adalah penulis dan akademisi asal Filipina yang telah menerbitkan 40 buku, mencakup karya fiksi, esai, puisi, terjemahan, buku teks, hingga antologi sastra. Ia pernah menjabat sebagai Kepala Sekolah Bahasa Inggris di University of Nottingham Malaysia, Presiden The Manila Times College, Kepala Riset dan pembawa acara TV-radio di TV5, serta Kepala Komunikasi di United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Beberapa karyanya yang telah diterbitkan antara lain Riverrun, A Novel; The Heart of Summer: Stories and Tales; serta tiga terjemahan novel klasik Tagalog ke dalam bahasa Inggris bersama Penguin House SEA. Danton menempuh pendidikan di Miami University dan Rutgers University (AS), University of Stirling (Inggris), serta Ateneo de Manila University dan University of the Philippines.
