What is the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival and what are the key dates?
The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is one of the world’s premier literary events. Now in its 22nd year, this five-day festival showcases internationally acclaimed authors, Booker Prize winners, and Indonesia’s most celebrated literary voices. It features engaging author talks, panel discussions, film screenings, and live performances, drawing readers and thinkers from across the globe.
Key Dates for the 2025 Festival:
Who can apply for Media Accreditation and what does it include?
Media Accreditation is available to members of the press and provides exclusive benefits, including:
- A Media Pass granting full access to all main Festival program
- Invitations to Opening Press Conferences in Jakarta, Denpasar, and Ubud
- An invitation to the Media Reception on Tuesday, 28 October, and the Festival’s Gala Opening in Ubud on Wednesday, 29 October.
- Opportunities to interview speakers and Festival representatives.
- Access to a dedicated Media Center for coverage support during the Festival.
What is required to apply for Media Accreditation?
Applicants must complete an online form and provide their credentials, including a personal profile and details of their company or organization. They also need to submit a coverage plan outlining the stories or angles they intend to pursue.
What is the deadline for Media Accreditation applications?
Applications close on Saturday, 15 September 2025. The Festival team aims to respond to applications within five days. For questions or to submit supporting materials, contact: press@ubudwritersfestival.com or reach out via WhatsApp.
