Dr. Lilit Žekulin Thwaites is an award-winning, Melbourne-based literary translator (Spanish–English), interviewer, moderator, lecturer, and academic researcher. She has translated books by notable writers such as Rosa Montero and Antonio Iturbe, including the best-selling The Librarian of Auschwitz. Her translations of short stories, essays, and poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies. In 2015, she won the inaugural Multicultural NSW Early Career Translator Prize, and in 2016 was awarded Spain’s Order of Civil Merit for her promotion of Spanish literature and culture in Australia.
