Eka Kurniawan was the first Indonesian writer to be nominated for a Man Booker International Prize. His works have been translated into 24 languages. His highly-acclaimed novel, Beauty is a Wound, was listed in The New York Times’ 100 Notable Books of 2015. Other than novels, he also writes short stories, movie scripts, and essays.

Eka Kurniawan adalah penulis Indonesia pertama yang dinominasikan untuk Man Booker International Prize. Karya-karyanya telah diterjemahkan ke dalam 24 bahasa. Novelnya yang sangat terkenal, Cantik Itu Luka, terdaftar dalam 100 Buku Terkemuka The New York Times tahun 2015. Selain novel, ia juga menulis banyak cerita pendek, naskah film, dan esai.
