Born in Padang, West Sumatra, Afdillah is a person who has great attention to social issues. A graduate of Sociology from Andalas University and a Masters in Environmental Sciences at Papua Manokwari University, he has been active throughout his career in the non-profit sector. Joining Greenpeace Indonesia in 2019, he has worked with various coalitions in campaigning for environmental and social justice for various issues, especially marine issues, such as saving marine ecosystems from IUU fishing activities, the enslavement of fishing vessel crews on foreign ships, efforts to save Sangihe Island from mining activities in North Sulawesi, and protection of the Spermonde waters in South Sulawesi.

Lahir di Padang, Sumatera Barat, Afdillah adalah sosok yang memiliki perhatian besar terhadap masalah sosial. Lulusan Sosiologi Universitas Andalas dan Magister Ilmu Lingkungan Universitas Manokwari Papua ini, sepanjang karirnya aktif di bidang non profit. Bergabung dengan Greenpeace Indonesia pada tahun 2019, hingga saat ini telah bekerja sama dengan berbagai koalisi dalam mengkampanyekan keadilan lingkungan dan sosial untuk berbagai isu khususnya isu kelautan, seperti penyelamatan ekosistem laut dari kegiatan IUU fishing, perbudakan awak kapal penangkap ikan di kapal asing, upaya menyelamatkan Pulau Sangihe dari aktivitas pertambangan di Sulawesi Utara, dan perlindungan perairan Spermonde di Sulawesi Selatan.
