The art of Moderation with Gill Westaway

Call for applications to participate in the Moderators Workshop led by Gill Westaway, from 3 to 6 February 2026.

Are you interested in becoming a moderator at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival? Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati, the organisation behind the festival, is offering a highly selective training opportunity for Indonesian women who are interested in facilitating thoughtful, engaging conversations at literary events. Following a careful selection process, 15 participants will be chosen to take part in the programme.

Join the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival’s Moderator Workshop this February with one of the Festival’s most accomplished moderators, Gill Westaway. The training will cover core moderation skills, including guiding discussions, conducting effective research, engaging audiences, and drawing clear, insightful conclusions over the course of three days.

Participants will also gain behind-the-scenes insight into how festival conversations are developed and delivered. Those selected will be considered for future moderation roles at the 2026 Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.
