What does the donation go towards?

Your donation goes towards various festival-related initiatives, including bringing your favorite writers to the festival, supporting author visits to local schools, developing our emerging writers' program, and funding other upcoming projects that we are actively planning and eager to reveal soon.

Donating is simple! You can contribute through our Donation webpage by clicking here and following the provided instructions. Additionally, during the ticket purchase process, you have the option to add a donation by selecting the designated donation option at the check-out.

What is the generous gift aimed for?

The generous gift is aimed at supporting the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival. The proceeds from the gift will be used to bring renowned writers to the Festival, facilitate author visits to local schools, develop programs for emerging writers, and fund other upcoming initiatives.

What are the benefits?

By becoming a Friend of the Festival, donors receive the following benefits: a 25% discount on the cost of a four-day Festival Pass, an invitation to the festival's opening night gala, exclusive invitations to special events during the festival, including Friends of the Festival-only events and author meet-and-greets, discounts and offers from select festival partners, reserved seating at events held in the festival's three main-stage venues, and a special Festival gift bag.

How much is the membership fee and how can it be paid?

The membership fee for Friends of the Festival is AUD 650 per Festival year. To make a donation, you can click here and choose either the option to pay with a Credit Card or PayPal account. If you prefer to use a credit or debit card without a PayPal account, that option is also available.

How does the Emerging Writer program work?

The Emerging Writer program invites aspiring Indonesian writers to submit their stories, which are then reviewed by a curatorial board. Selected writers have the opportunity to launch their work at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, with the Anthology showcasing their talent and providing international exposure.

What does my donation support?

Your donation supports the translation and publication of the annual Anthology, as well as expenses like airfares, accommodation, and honorarium for emerging writers during the Festival. It creates life-changing opportunities for young writers to learn, connect, and be inspired at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, a leading literary event.

What is the Anthology?

As part of our mission to highlight Indonesian voices, we invite supporters of literature and the arts to contribute to our Emerging Writers Anthology Series. This publication features diverse works by emerging writers from across Indonesia, providing them a platform to share their stories and have their work translated into English, expanding their reach and opening international opportunities.

How much is the support and how can it be paid?

Support us with a gift of AUD 650 or IDR 6,500,000 or more, and you will automatically become an honored Emerging Writers Patron. To make a donation, you can click here or add the amount to the designated donation field at the check-out during the ticket purchase process.
