Xin Wei Thow

Xin Wei Thow is a Javanese Gamelan musician from Singapore, currently based in Hamburg and Berlin. A two-time recipient of the Darmasiswa RI scholarship, Xin Wei refined his craft at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Surakarta while also studying under renowned practitioners in the city. He has performed internationally, including at Singapore’s Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay and the Solo International Performing Arts Festival (SIPA). Since moving to Germany, he has collaborated with various gamelan ensembles across Europe.

Xin Wei Thow adalah penabuh gamelan Jawa yang berdomisili di Hamburg dan Berlin. Dua kali menerima beasiswa Darmasiswa RI, ia mengasah keahliannya di Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta dan belajar bersama beberapa tokoh karawitan di kota tersebut. Ia telah tampil di berbagai panggung internasional, termasuk Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay Singapura dan Solo International Performing Arts Festival (SIPA). Sejak pindah ke Jerman, ia telah berkolaborasi dengan beberapa ensemble gamelan di seluruh Eropa.
