Riri Riza

Riri Riza is an Indonesian film director holding a diploma in film directing from the Jakarta Institute of the Arts and an MA in screenwriting from The Royal Holloway, University of London. He's known for his exploration of Indonesian culture in films like Petualangan Sherina from 2000, Gie from 2005, and Laskar Pelangi from 2008. His work has not only found success at the Indonesian box office but has also been featured at prestigious international film festivals in Berlin, Tokyo, Busan, and London. Additionally, Riri Riza has served as a jury member at various international film festivals. He has collaborated with producer Mira Lesmana at Miles Films for over two decades, and his latest film, PARANOIA in 2021, premiered at the 2021 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival in South Korea. Currently, he teaches film directing at the Jakarta Institute of the Arts.
