Siddharth Pico Raghavan Iyer, known as Pico Iyer, is a British-born essayist and novelist renowned for his travel writing. He is the author of 17 works of fiction and non-fiction, which have been translated into 23 languages. His recent bestsellers include The Open Road, The Art of Stillness, The Half Known Life, and, earlier this year, Aflame, a meditation on wildfire, monks, and silence. He has also written introductions to more than 90 books and, for the past 39 years, has been a regular essayist for Time, The New York Times, The Financial Times, and many other major publications.
