Michael Vatikiotis

Michael Vatikiotis is a US-American writer and private diplomat who has lived in Asia for the best part of 40 years. He has written three books on the politics of Southeast Asia, including Blood and Silk: Power and Conflict in Modern Southeast Asia. His works of fiction include two novels set in Indonesia and two collections of short stories. His latest book, Lives Between the Lines: A Journey in Search of the Lost Levant, was published in 2021 and explores his family’s origins in the Middle East. He works as a Senior Advisor at the Geneva-based Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue.

Michael Vatikiotis adalah penulis dan diplomat swasta asal Amerika Serikat yang telah menetap di Asia selama hampir 40 tahun. Ia telah menulis tiga buku tentang politik Asia Tenggara, termasuk Blood and Silk: Power and Conflict in Modern Southeast Asia. Karya fiksinya mencakup dua novel berlatar Indonesia dan dua kumpulan cerita pendek.
