Kyoko Yoshida

Kyoko Yoshida is a Japanese writer and author of the short story collections Disorientalism and Spring Sleepers. She has translated contemporary American authors such as Dave Eggers, David Foster Wallace, Monique Truong, Gary Shteyngart, and Lucy Ives into Japanese, and also translates contemporary experimental Japanese poetry into English. Spectacle & Pigsty: Selected Poems of Kiwao Nomura, co-translated with poet Forrest Gander, won the 2012 Best Translated Book Award in Poetry. She is the founding director of Kyoto Writers Residency and a professor of American and World Literature at Kyoto University.
