Bar Luna at Casa Luna

"I always thought history and memory would triumph over temporary aberrations and return to their rightful place. It now appears the opposite is true. In today’s China, amnesia trumps memory. Lies are surpassing the truth." In this session, Yan Lianke, a Chinese writer who grew up in the 1950s and experienced the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the communist purge of bourgeois in the 1960s and 1970s, discusses his life and work in contemporary China.
