Ian Burnet, an Australian writer known for his focus on the stories of the Indonesian archipelago, invites us on an enthralling voyage into the captivating seafaring realm of Joseph Conrad, the celebrated novelist and mariner. Along the way, we encounter an array of characters, from European adventurers and opportunists to Chinese, Arabs, and coastal Malays engaged in trade with the indigenous upriver Dayaks of Borneo.
