Though the stories we read may be fiction, often at their heart are characters that feel genuine and real. How does a writer know where to begin writing these inner worlds? From grasping what grounds and motivates their characters, to charting their pasts, presents, and futures, hear from our three authors, Julia Prendergast, Mirandi Riwoe, and Allen Jones on what it takes to bring their unique casts of characters to life.
