Regarded as ‘a poet leading a generational and cultural shift,’ Chris Tse explores how individuals shape their identities and histories across contexts, with a focus on identity, his Chinese heritage, and the experiences of Chinese immigrants in 20th-century New Zealand. Daryl Qilin Yam’s second novel is considered groundbreaking in Singaporean literature as it traverses countries and eras, crafting a narrative that consistently evokes detachment. Debra Danks’ memoir spans timelines, delving into Dreaming stories and intergenerational trauma post massacres in Australia’s frontier wars. Our writers will discuss their non-linear storytelling approach, weaving the past into the future, during an immersive and thought-provoking conversation moderated by journalist Annika Blau.

Supported and presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre and UniSA Creative.
