Travelling to Ubud

Ubud is one hour north of Denpasar’s Ngurah Rai airport. The easiest way to get to Ubud is by shuttle provided from your hotel or guesthouse. Please contact your hotel to see if they offer a pick-up and drop-off service. You can also hire a Blue Bird taxi, which is a metered car, or speak with a driver at the airport to negotiate your own fare. The other option is by using Grab / GoCar via your mobile application.

Festival Venue

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2021 comes with a slightly different format from our previous years. This year, we are combining online and live events in Ubud.

If you are in Ubud during the festival dates, you will be able to attend the Festival on-site, which will be spread across the following venues:

Indus Restaurant

With its breathtaking view of the Tjampuhan ridge and Mount Agung, soaring hand-carved columns, terrazzo floors, and teak furniture, Indus combines an elegant, breezy mix of Balinese-Indian ambiance.  Established in 1998, it has been a local favorite for nearly 20 years and features authentic Balinese cuisine and Asian-inspired dishes.
