In addition to being celebrated as Indonesia’s first Muslim female stand-up comedian, Sakdiyah Ma’ruf is an activist and two-time TEDx speaker. She has received the Vaclav Havel International Prize for Creative Dissent in 2015 and was recognized as one of BBC’s 100 Women in 2018 and BBC Cultural Frontline’s 12 Artists that Changed the World in 2019.
