Maria Antonia Rahartati Bambang Haryo is a writer and translator. She learnt French at the University of Semarang and was granted a scholarship to study at the Institute of French Teachers Abroad in 1968. She worked at the Crédit Lyonnais in Jakarta and then at the Belgian Embassy before beginning translating books, including the tales of Charles Perrault. From 1984, she translated 19 Asterix and Obelix books which quickly caused a sensation throughout the country thanks to her acute sense of wordplay and adaptation, remaining faithful to the spirit of René Goscinny. She has released three books in Indonesian, French, and English.

Maria Antonia Rahartati Bambang Haryo adalah seorang penulis dan penerjemah. Ia belajar bahasa Prancis di Universitas Semarang dan mendapat beasiswa untuk belajar di Institute of French Teachers Abroad pada tahun 1968. Ia bekerja di Crédit Lyonnais Jakarta dan kemudian di Kedutaan Belgia sebelum mulai menerjemahkan buku, termasuk kisah Charles Perrault. Dari tahun 1984, ia menerjemahkan 19 buku Asterix dan Obelix yang dengan cepat menimbulkan sensasi di seluruh negeri berkat kepekaan permainan kata dan adaptasinya yang tajam, tetap setia pada semangat René Goscinny. Ia telah merilis tiga buku dalam bahasa Indonesia, Prancis, dan Inggris.
