Joko Pinurbo, fondly known as Jokpin, shaped his own style and color in the world of Indonesian poetry. Jokpin’s poems are a blend of narration, humor, and irony. He has received various awards for his work, including the Jakarta Arts Council’s Book of Poetry Award (2001), Tempo’s Choice Literary Figure (2001; 2012), the Language Agency Literature Award (2002; 2014), Kusala Sastra Khatulistiwa (2005; 2015), and the Southeast Asian Writers Award (2014).
