Intan Paramaditha is an Indonesian writer and academic; her works of fiction have been translated into English under the titles Apple and Knife as well as The Wandering by Stephen J. Epstein and published by Harvill Secker/Penguin Random House UK. Intan has won numerous accolades for her works, including the PEN Translates Award for The Wandering. Her works have been selected in the Best American Travel Writing 2021, White Review’s Book of the Year, as well as the World Literature Today’s 75 Notable Translations. A multidisciplinary artist, she got involved in stage play production, while editing the Translating Feminisms series initiated by the Tilted Axis Press. She earned a PhD from the New York University in 2014, and worked as a media studies lecturer in Macquarie University, Sydney. She also founded and manages the Women’s School of Thought, a decolonial feminist collective across the archipelago.
