Andre Syahreza

Andre Syahreza is an Indonesian writer invited by the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) as a visiting scholar to research Heritage Politics in modern Indonesian literature. His study on contemporary novels in Indonesia was published in the international journal BKI titled The Topicality of Pre-colonial Indonesian Heroes: Recent Popular Fiction From Indonesia from 2011. Known for books like The Innocent Rebel: Sisi Aneh Orang Jakarta from 2006, and City of Fiction from 2010, he began his career as a journalist and later became an editor for Latitudes an English-language cultural studies magazine based in Denpasar, Bali.

Andre Syahreza adalah seorang penulis Indonesia yang diundang oleh Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) sebagai cendekiawan tamu untuk meneliti Politik Warisan Sejarah dalam sastra Indonesia modern. Pengkajiannya atas novel-novel kontemporer Indonesia telah diterbitkan dalam jurnal internasional BKI berjudul The Topicality of Pre-colonial Indonesian Heroes: Recent Popular Fiction From Indonesia (Topikalitas Pahlawan Indonesia Pre-Kolonial: Fiksi Populer Terkini dari Indonesia) dari 2011. Dikenal atas buku-buku seperti The Innocent Rebel: Sisi Aneh Orang Jakarta dari 2006, dan City of Fiction dari 2010, ia memulai karirnya sebagai seorang wartawan dan kemudian menjadi editor untuk Latitudes, majalah kajian budaya berbahasa Inggris yang berbasis di Denpasar, Bali.
