He is the author of two award-winning books, Secularism and State Policies toward Religion: The United States, France, and Turkey and Islam, Authoritarianism, and Underdevelopment: A Global and Historical Comparison. His books have been translated into Arabic, Bosnian, French, German, Persian, Turkish, Urdu, Indonesian.
