Can re-telling narratives change our understanding of contemporary Indonesian history? Peter Carey, Eko Darmoko, and Max Lane discuss why the analysis of the longest period of Indonesian history, the New Order 1965-1998, has been neglected and how literature and books played a major role in the New Order’s overthrow, in particular reserach about Diponegoro, the poetry of W.S. Rendra and Wiji Thukul, and the books of Pramoedya Ananta Toer.

Dapatkah penceritaan ulang narasi historis mengubah pemahaman kita tentang sejarah kontemporer Indonesia?
