Growing up in Singapore, Simran always knew what was expected of her: to be a mother and a wife. The only problem? She wants nothing to do with this. Simran is almost standing by the altar before she manages to escape to the University of Calgary in Canada. Letters between Simran and her family back home reveal that no matter the path women take in life, it will always be fraught with conflict, hilarity, and peril.
