This year—2023—marks an important milestone for Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.

For two decades, the festival has gathered readers and writers from across Indonesia and the world in Bali’s cultural heartland. What happens there, amid the humid, tropical jungle, on festival stages and in book signing queues, separated from the circadian rhythms of regular life, is nothing short of magic.

Stories are shared. Memories are made. For a singular moment in time, all that matters is you and your curiosity.

Ubud Writers & Readers Festival is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation, and we rely heavily on the goodwill and generosity of our partners and donors to make each year a success.

For our 20th Anniversary edition, we invite you—our loyal, book-loving audience—to help us write our next chapter by becoming a Friend of the Festival.

The proceeds of your generous gift will go towards bringing your favourite writers to the festival, sending visiting authors to local schools, developing our emerging writers’ program, and other initiatives which we are busily planning and hope to unveil soon.

Friends of the Festival memberships are AUD 650 per Festival year. You can donate by PayPal if you a PayPal account. You can also donate via Paypal without a PayPal account using a credit or debit card.

Your donation will appear on your bank statement as «Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati».
