Born in 1949, Slamet Rahardjo started his career in theatre. A legendary and highly-regarded Indonesian actor, director, and screenwriter, Rahardjo has received many national and international awards for his work. In 1991, his film Langitku, Rumahku was chosen to represent Indonesia in the 63rd Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
