Simon Armitage is Professor of Poetry at the University of Leeds. He has published 11 poetry collections, writes extensively for television and radio, and is the author of two novels and three non-fiction bestsellers. He was awarded a Commander of the British Empire for services to poetry in 2010, and was appointed Professor of Poetry at Oxford University in 2015.
