Kamila Andini’s first feature-length film, The Mirror Never Lies, was screened at more than 30 festivals globally, and received several awards. Her second film Sekala Niskala (The Seen and Unseen), premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. It received the Best Youth Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Film Festival, the Grand Jury Prize at Tokyo Filmex, and several other awards. Her new film, Yuni, won the Platform Prize at the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival. Still carrying the theme of patriarchy, her latest film, Before Now and Then (Nana), tells about the condition of Indonesian women in the midst of the political turmoil in 1965.
