Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (28 October – 1 November) has announced the full line-up of writers for its 12th and most exciting year yet, along with a new ticket pass for literature lovers flocking to the event from Southeast Asia.
The ASEAN 4-Day Pass, which will be available to nationals from Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, offers a 20% discount off the international ticket price, and is on sale now via the Buy Tickets page.
Founder & Director of the not-for-profit Festival, Janet DeNeefe, said the move was in recognition of the special place the UWRF holds within Southeast Asia, and its mission to showcase not just Indonesian arts and literature, but that of the broader ASEAN region.
“The UWRF might be held in Indonesia, but it’s really a platform for people from all walks of life to come together and discuss the topical issues that affect us all,” she said. “In an increasingly frantic and globalised world, creating a space where we can meet, listen and learn with people is more important than ever before.”
This year, Festival-goers will be treated to five days of more than 200 events, with the program including 85+ panel discussions, intimate literary lunches, workshops, night parties, poetry slams and food tours, with more still to be announced.
