WHY BECOME A PARTNER OR A SPONSOR?
In 2006, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival was named ‘one of the world’s great book festivals’ by Conde Nast Travel and Leisure and ‘among the top six literary Festivals in the world’ by Harper’s Baazar. By supporting the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival you will have the opportunity to be associated with one of the peak literary events in the world, whilst engaging with the Asia-Pacific community and fulfilling your corporate social responsibilities.

The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival also provides your company with the opportunity to:

  • attract new customers
  • promote your products and services
  • differentiate yourself from your competitors
  • involve your staff
  • corporate hospitality packages for your clients
  • enhance your corporate profile

Now in its fourth year, the Festival relies on the support of corporate sponsors, foreign embassies/cultural institutions, media, professional writers and performers, the local Ubud community and the general public. In order to continue, we need your support more than ever for this international event to take place in 2007.

EXPOSURE
In 2006, the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival recorded attendances of more than 3,500. The Festival generally attracts a middle-to-upper class, educated audience aged 36 and over. Women make up a large percentage of this audience.

The Festival attracts participants not only from Bali, Jakarta and other big cities of Indonesia but also from neighboring countries such as Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. In fact, 59% of audience members in 2006 traveled from overseas to the Festival. This was an increase of 10% in 2005. The Festival hopes to continue to promote tourism to Bali and Indonesia by further increasing the number of overseas visitors to the Festival.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Festival offers a range of sponsorship packages offering sponsors extensive entitlements and promotional opportunities. The Festival also works with individual sponsors to develop tailored sponsorship packages to suit the specific goals and aims of your company or organisation.

NOT JUST CASH
We also welcome in-kind partnerships for a range of products and services. In particular: flights & accommodation for writers and journalist, media promotion and advertising, design and printing, catering, film and photography documentation, venues, merchandising, food & beverage supplies. There are many possibilities, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you feel you have something to offer the Festival.

BENEFITS OF THE FESTIVAL
Economic
The Festival began as a healing and economic development project after the Bali bombings of 2002. The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival works to promote tourism and to foster a positive image of Bali and Indonesia abroad. The importance of this role was again highlighted following the second Bali bombings in 2005.

The Festival provides a welcome boost to the morale of the Balinese people and to the local tourism industry and receives immense support from local restaurants, hotels and other businesses, who can appreciate the benefits of the Festival for the local community.

By joining with the Festival your company can assist the Balinese to recover from the unfortunate events of 2002 and 2005 and to rebuild the positive image of Bali abroad.

Political
By supporting the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival you will benefit by strengthening the goodwill and understanding between Indonesia and your company or organisation’s country of origin. Your support of the Saraswati Foundation, a non-profit community based arts organization that hosts UWRF, will make you a leading role model in corporate social responsibility in South East Asia.

The positive outcomes associated with your support include the opportunity to develop new contacts and networks in the region and build new audiences and revenue streams.  The positive media you will recoup from the Festival will improve your corporate image both within Indonesia and abroad. Several international organizations have already joined with the Festival and are reaping the benefits of their involvement. We hope you will join us too.

Social
The Festival is a key part of the Saraswati Foundation’s strategy to foster an interest in reading and writing among Indonesia’s youth and improve literacy skills.  The Festival offers an extensive, world-class writing and cultural program for children and has been a major sponsor of the Saraswati and Lintang & Bali Post Children’s Literary Competition for the past two years.

The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival also provides a platform for Indonesian and South East Asian writers to showcase their work to an international audience that includes journalists, publishers and festival directors.  Many Indonesian writers have benefited from their involvement in the Festival and have gone on to present their work at other Festivals abroad. The Festival aims to become the gateway for emerging Indonesian and South East Asian writers to western publishers and markets.

Your company will benefit from being associated with our children’s program and activities and will have the opportunity to access our international audience and markets.

MAXIMIZING YOUR RETURN ON INVESTMENT AND CREATING WIN-WIN SITUATION
We work with your organization to ensure that your support is goes directly to the areas you want it to.  We want what you want, a beneficial and sustainable relationship that increases your return on investment, promotes your corporate mission and vision and enlarges your company’s media profile. You win, we win - that's our principle and commitment.

A LONG LASTING IMPACT
