Festival Friends Program
If you’ve ever thought about becoming a Festival Friend, 2009 is the year!
DOWNLOAD THE FESTIVAL FRIENDS FORM HERE.
This year, more than ever, the Festival needs your support. The global financial situation, combined with political uncertainly in Indonesia, has seen our corporate support greatly reduced. While we still have a number of wonderful and committed corporate sponsors, who are supporting us even through these difficult times [see 'sponsors' page], we need YOU as well.
The Festival Friends program has always been popular, but this year we are offering increased benefits. Aside from the warm glow, discounted tickets, recognition in our program, a T-shirt and regular news updates from us, the Friends preferential booking period ensures you don’t miss out on any of our glittering special events or popular workshop series.
Even more attractive is the opportunity to purchase a ticket to our unpublicised, exclusive writers dinners where you can meet and talk to writers in a small, intimate setting. In 2009, tickets to these events will ONLY be available to our Festival Friends.
And to say thank you, the Festival will host an afternoon tea event for Friends only.
Confirmed writers include Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka [Nigeria], Fatima Bhutto and Mohammad Hanif [Pakistan], Vikas Swarup [India], Hari Kunzru [UK], Julia Leigh [Aust], Dany Laferrière [Haiti/ Canada], Arthur Flowers [US], Ameresekere, Asitha [Sri Lanka/ UK], Chef Wan and Wena Poon [Singapore], Seno Gumira Ajidarma [Indonesia], Mansoura Ez Eldin [Egypt], Lloyd Jones and Mo Zhi Hong [NZ], Bejan Matur [Turkey], Thant Myint-U [Burma] and Amir Mohammad [Malaysia].
As a not-for-profit organisation that receives no government funding, the Festival relies on the generosity of corporations, international funding bodies, and especially individuals.
Show your support for the work of the Festival, and get a range of great benefits.
